Happy Independence Day, Greenz! 🇬🇩

Today — February 7 — is Grenada’s 49th Independence Day! In honor of this illustrious holiday, I’m showcasing the #1* rum in my collection — Rivers Royale Grenadian Rum. Coming in at a whopping 69% ABV, Rivers is not for the faint of heart and adored by the most adventurous rum drinkers across the globe. Rivers’ smell makes its presence known immediately, but it’s the taste that will have you coming back for more.

River Antoine Estate operates one of the oldest distilleries in the Caribbean, producing their rum utilizing the same methods from its opening in 1785.

*I’ve included an asterisk, because technically, my favorite bottle of Rivers is the 75% ABV bottle, pictured below. Howeverrrrrrr, red top Rivers isn’t available at duty-free or allowed to be legally purchased outside of Grenada, so I’ve included it’s equally delicious and readily available black top version on my list!

How to drink: When I’m in Grenada, I prefer to drink Rivers with LLB — ANGOSTURA lemon, lime, and bitters, or simply with a splash of fresh lime juice. When I’m in the states, I add Rivers to daiquiris, mai tais, and painkillers for an unmistakable Greenz funk!
